61st Youth Legislature
Host Home Volunteers
Each year over 400 students from around Washington State convene in Olympia for four days of debate and discussion. Students take on the roles of Senator, Representative, lobbyist, reporter, page, and session leadership.
In order to keep the program affordable for all students the YMCA Youth & Government program arranges for local families to host delegates during their time in Olympia. Delegates range in age from 14 to 18 years old and come from all over the state. Hosting students is a fun and educational experience for both delegates and volunteers and many of our host families have been volunteering for over a decade!
Host families are asked to provide the following:
- 3 nights accommodations
- breakfast for 3 mornings
- dinner one evening
