Attorney Raters

Each year the YMCA High School Mock Trial State Competition brings out some of the most talented, articulate, and enthusiastic young people from around our state. 

The competition takes place over the course of 3 days and is held at the Thurston County Courthouse in Olympia. Real judges preside over trials and attorneys rate students on their performances and courtroom etiquette.

Volunteering during the YMCA Mock Trail State Championships is a great opportunity to…

* meet attorneys, judges, and students from around Washington

* participate in the civic education of tomorrow’s leaders

* make connections with program alumni who come back year after year

* watch some of the most dynamic and inspiring courtroom presentations you’ll ever see!

Student participants take on the roles of attorneys and witnesses in a courtroom trial in front of a real judge! 

Volunteer attorneys are needed to rate students performances in the courtroom and comment on their skill, poise, and knowledge of court procedures.
